Longest Land Rover line in the skeleton coast 2024

We invite you to join us for two days of 4×4 family fun and adventure during the festive season. On the 28th of December we will visit the Omdel Dam on a day trip ending in a social gathering and a sun-downer in the Omaruru River Mouth. On the 29th of December you have an opportunity to participate in the longest land rover line along the skeleton coast. The day will end with a social gathering and a sun-downer on the Dunes at Langstrand.

Competitions to participate in: Photo Competition. Categories: (all with a land rover in the picture), Landscape, Portrait, Family/group photo, nature Photo, Action Photo, Sunset Picture.

The prizes for the weekend will be a trip to Sandwich Harbor for 10 vehicles and can be won in the following two ways:
1. 5 x Luck draw for sandwich trip on 2nd January (drawn from the entries of the event additional lucky draw tickets available at 250N$ per ticket)
2. 5 places for first place participants in the picture competition.

The event is in support of water for wildlife projects.

Event Program:

28th December – Omaruru River Omdel Dam day trip.

8h00- Arrival at Old Henties Bay Private School Terrain(Camp Name) (GPS Location).

Indemnity and Administration
N$250 per vehicle

9h00 – Scripture Reading Prayer and Departure to Omdel Dam via Jo-joba farm, river bed East, 4×4 sand track.

12h00 – Lunch break in river bed under some shade trees – self catering 1.5 – 2 hrs.

14h00 – Departure to Henties, OMARURU river mouth for Sun-downer Photo Opportunity and Social Gathering. (self catering) ( Possibility of sand drag racing – depending on interest from the group)

29th November – Longest Skeleton Coast Land Rover Line.

9h00 – meet up at beach turn off after 4 kant klip outside Swakopmund en route to Walfish Bay – scripture, prayer Safety briefing

10h00 – Depart to Langstrand longest Landrover Line along the coastline.

11h00-12h00 arrival at Langstrand beach for social Gathering (self catering) untill sunset.

6h00 (Close to sunset) Sun-downer on the Dune Opposite Langstrand – Permit (no charge) should be acquired by all participants at Ministry of Environment & Tourism for driving in the Dunes/Desert.
